Who we are
The Sport Brief publishes short, automatically written briefs on consumer technology. We read public RSS feeds, merge coverage of the same event and summarise it in our own words with a link to the original reporting. This page explains what we do with personal information.
What we collect
- Contact form. Your name, email address, subject, message, and the IP address and browser string that submitted the form. We use it to reply and to keep a record of the request.
- Server logs. Standard web logs (IP address, browser string, request time and URL) kept for security and troubleshooting.
- Nothing else. No account, no newsletter signup data at launch, no tracking pixels.
Cookies and analytics
We set no cookies for visitors, and we run no third-party analytics or advertising tags. If sponsored placements are shown they are served by us directly and labelled "Sponsored"; following one takes you to the advertiser's site with a referral parameter in the link so the click can be counted.
How we use it
To answer your message, to fix mistakes, to honour removal or takedown requests, and to keep the site working. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not use contact details for marketing.
Who else sees it
Our mail relay provider transmits contact-form messages to our own inbox, so a message passes through their systems. The publishers we link to have their own privacy policies, which apply once you follow a link off this site. We do not share your information with anyone else except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
Contact messages are kept for up to twelve months so we can follow up on a removal request, then deleted. Server logs are deleted after 30 days.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask for a correction, or ask us to delete it. Use the contact form and include the email address you used, and we will action it. If you asked us to remove a story or image, we will also block that source's content from being re-ingested where we can.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes affecting the use of contact details will be noted on the site.
